Me and my car

September 3rd, 2010 by Jane Tjon

There we go! Me and my car. On adventure. 2 weeks ago I drove in The Hague area and suddenly I saw a car approaching. The situation was weird because it looked like my very own car. Bizarre. When it came closer, I saw I was right. This car looked exactly the same as mine and more important -that’s why it looked so similar- the license plate was almost identical. It had only one number in difference. Same dealer. Cool. Yesterday I had to pick up my car from its maintenance service and almost got into the wrong car. Same story. Almost identical license plate. I suspect the dealer to have applied for like 10 almost identical license plates on 10 identical new born cars. My car has sisters and brothers! We should arrange a meetup!

Connect to my roots

August 14th, 2010 by Jane Tjon

Over the last few months I have been more active in networking than ever. In the beginning when I started my social media accounts I had only some good friends connected. Over time those accounts started to grow with old-class and mates and lately I connect with interesting new people I meet. Today for the first time I realized I’m only connected to part of my family members. I was surprised by myself this thought hadn’t occur to me earlier. Back to my origin. Back to who I am and where I came from. In case you don’t know it already, I have a huge family. I have many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews. And some of those last ones have children now too! I’m proud of it. Let’s connect and be meaningful to each other, we are all family after all!

End of July

July 31st, 2010 by Jane Tjon

Start of my weekend
Last minute call from a friend to go out for dinner at the beach. Of course, no problem! Ended up in my favorite place with delicious snacks and fresh orange juice. Lots of road work when I travelled back home late at night. It seems like this is going to last until mid-August. Bummer. Easy waking up next morning. Not in a rush for anything. After arrival of my friend, outside lunch at the place around the corner. A good spot to watch people passing by. Many crowded buses. Hyves and Twitter @janecttl on my iPhone showed me that it was this music festival close by causing all the traffic. Walk into the city not realizing we had only about thirty minutes left to visit the museum. Anyways, we only saw a fraction of the collection and exhibitions. Definitely have to come back some day. Decided to do some home cooking tonight. As delicious as going out and much cheaper. Compensated savings in the evening with drinks in a 020 bar. It need to in balance, right? Slept from roughly 4am till 10-something-am. Luckily this last weekend day is a lazy one. No plans. Hanging. Reading. Twittering. Messaging friends. Eating. Sleeping.
